In the morning, dreams shadows cross your face
It's time to be going,
Blank faces running and racing aging and slowing.
We don't even know ourselves.
Have we lost ourselves?
Tell a story. Blow heartache from your hand like sand from a quarry.
Once waters edge now land, the earth's never sorry.
All one way roads going north. Forward only.
We can't go back.
We can never go back
But I can't cry as I try to make sense of this war I've waged on you.
The more time it takes the less it makes sense to commit to breaking you down, bringing you down.
Are we winning? What we think is who we are but there's no beginnings or endings to this wheel going round and round.
It's always spinning. Around itself and around these flames with the life they are bringing.
We can't go back.
We can never go back.
But I can't cry as I try to make sense of this war I've waged on you.
The more time it takes the less it makes sense to commit to breaking you down, bringing you down.
How did we get here?
We could watch the ground blowing up.
We could watch the mountains fall away.
We could spend tomorrow thinking about yesterday but let's spend today right here and now.

The sun is out and everything you do
Makes me shout you're so surreal and I
Swear I've seen sunshine darker than you....
I've seen better days,
It's like a heatwave walking around
In a haze.
And It's crazy how get so lost that we can never be found.
It's amazing.
Open up your arms and let me in.
I don't care where we go as long as we begin.
Should I run or should I crawl?
Is this for one? Is this for all?
Will we stand or will we fall?
Just one way to find out, pick up the dice and roll.
The sun is out and everything you do
Makes me shout you're so surreal and I
Swear I've seen sunshine darker than you....
In the evening when the sun goes down
Seeing is believing, we can be anything when no one else is around.
Come on up tonight. Try your luck, don't be scared, it's alright.
Ya we'll do just fine baby if we try.
Should I run or should I crawl?
Is this for one? Is this for all?
Will we stand or will we fall?
Ya we're gonna find out with our backs against the wall.
The sun is out and everything you do
Makes me shout you're so surreal and I
Swear I've seen sunshine darker than you....

I've seen this before, this is nothing new.
You know that feeling in your heart? It's true.
Here it comes again, water pouring over our heads,
Could this be true? Could it be the end of me and you?
I've seen this before. This is where it ends.
It all came crashing down before we could make amends.
Here it comes again.
I've seen this before. You go away and lock the door.
Girl let me in.
This is never gonna go away before this battle's drawn.
Sitting crosslegged on the floor from dark to light.
You push and pull with all your might.
I've seen this before.
Ain't it funny how the time goes by so slow
waiting for all the fun times to approach
but in the blink of an eye your whole life's passed you by,
and if you think you'll get one second back, it's a lie.
Go ahead and try.
I've seen this before. This is Deja vu
I can't take anymore. This is what we're going to do.
We'll pretend that even though the war is at an end
there's still more to do.
I can be as fucking evil as you want me to.
So it goes, I believe that I am well beyond reproach,
so for a while, you can sit and wonder why I wear this smile.
I've seen this before.
Ain't it funny how the time rolls out ahead of us.
Like this steel beneath the rust we must be fixed
before we bust.
And if you knew how close the end was
maybe you'd act differently.
Let go of all your anger, fall in love with what you see,
If you want to find the way out first you find the way in,
And if you think you'll get one second back it's a lie.
It's all just a lie.
Go ahead and try.

There goes the change, a chance to erase.
You take the substitution, its the illusion.
Go way back, before you know it.
You're born with a medal under your pillow.
Fast track in moderation.
Solidify your brains.
Creativity pouring out of your fingers,
don't let it linger, it happened in a split second.
Second place winner, silver medal achiever,
turn table spinner, it's the fever.
Fast track in moderation.
Solidify your brains.
You're sweet, but not like sugar,
You are a good substitution,
Sweet, but good for me.
You are the illusion.
