Acoustic Guitar, Jazz & Blues, Americana, Fingerstyle Blues
Here's a piece from the AGW vault, recorded back in the 1990s. The arrangement is very loosely based on Police Dog Blues by Blind Blake which was recorded in around 1926. This is a boogie woogie version and very different from Blake's original fingerstyle blues in Open E. Steve Elliott on guitar & vocals, Chris Elliott on piano and Phil Chetwynd blowing harp and backing vocals.

A lullaby written by Steve Elliott for his daughter.
Lucy’s Song
Come on little sleepy head
It’s time for you to go to bed
Catch hold of Mr Bear
Let’s take a walk upon the stair
You’ve had a long hard day
And now it’s time for us to say
‘Good night, sleep tight…’
Close your eyes and take a ride
Until you get to morning side
You’ll be the driver of an engine bright
On a magic journey through the night
Wherever your dreams take you
We’ll be there, we won’t forsake you
You know the night is not so dark
If you keep a dream alight in your heart
Wherever your dreams take you
We’ll be there, we won’t forsake you
‘Good night, sleep tight…’

Acoustic Guitar, Folk & Singer-Songwriter
Instrumental version of the old English folk song. The tune's history goes back to medieval times when Europe was ravaged by plague and it was thought that 'parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme' would help. This is of course the famous refrain from the song. However, this version for acousticgroovewarrior.com features two acoustic guitars, played by Steve Elliott and Ilya Truhanov.

Acoustic Guitar, Folk & Singer-Songwriter, Adult Contemporary
This song reflects on how everything changed so quickly when the Soviet Union collapsed, when the borders opened and the West streamed in, not necessarily all for the good. It was written by Stevee and recorded for acousticgroovewarrior.com (AGW) in 2012 in Moscow.
Goodbye Mr Lenin
Downtown Moscow on Old Arbat Street
You can hear the sound of so many marching feet.
Guess those old comrades wouldn’t recognise these parades -
Sweet little Moskvichka in her Gucci and her shades.
Goodbye Mr Lenin, I guess you’re in the shade,
Money’s the new religion, it’s all the rage
And comrade Josef would turn in his grave.
Downtown Moscow money oils the flow -
It runs like a thick black river through the Russian soul.
Downtown Moscow where the pretty people meet
You can smell it in the air - money is on heat!
Goodbye Mr Lenin, I guess you’re in the shade,
Money’s the new religion, it’s all the rage
And comrade Josef would turn in his grave.
