Singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer.
Born in a small village in Russia, ÅMBE discovered the violin and piano at the age of 4. She progressed rapidly and at the age of 6 she was uprooted from her family to be trained as a prodigy in Ukraine. After a life of classical conservatories and academies, as well as international contests in Russia, Ukraine, Germany, and Denmark - she left everything in pursuit of her real passion.
Armed with a one-way ticket to America, ÅMBE had one bluff. But a tireless soul. She started performing at different New York clubs and cafes - singing, playing the piano and violin. Then one day, ÅMBE was noticed by Avant-Electro producer Brian Forbes. There was an instant connection, and they immediately began working on the EP that would be called “Enemy Of The People.”
A deft and entrancing classical-electronic hybrid composed entirely by ÅMBE herself, Enemy’s strings, synths, and guitars coalesce underneath her vocals to channel a smooth but undeniable and fascinating urgency. Her strong, perhaps even heavy-handed classical background in violin, piano and composition combine with her mastery of electronic music to create deeply sophisticated but infinitely engaging harmonic textures, and her own unmistakable voice skims and soars above them with an organic but otherworldly warmth.
ÅMBE’s distinctive voice has also been sought out by other artists – she recorded two albums (“Ritual” and “Enigma”) with the Grammy winning composer and pianist Fernando Otero, as a featured vocalist with her remarkable range and astonishingly high, ethereal soprano. “Ritual" got nominated for Latin Grammy 2015 (best modern classical album of the year).
ÅMBE also conceptualizes and directs her own videos, and continues to write and perform live arrangements of her music, both of which display the excellence, experimentalism, and emotional curiosity that she brings to every part of her art.
This is why ÅMBE is often compared to futuristic, multitalented artists like Bjork, Imogen Heap, James Blake and FKA Twigs, though with a uniquely compelling voice and vision delivered via her meticulous but heartfelt musicality.
