I think it is almost time to consider getting back in and recording some new stuff. Anyone here down for some collabs? I think we have an interesting way to interact and create...why not use it. All styles welcome....although my rap skills would definately be limited! ha! Get at me

This song was written in a very dark time of my life honestly, where I had started questioning everything around me, especially people and their real intentions. Around the same time I started to work on who I was as human being and started to let go of a lot people and stuff , nonsense and negativity, and as a result of being better healthier, more open , most of these people and things started to find a way out of my life. The song is supposed to be hopeful even though some of the lyrics seem desperate. I think more often than not we blame everyone else for the things that go wrong. If we could set ego aside and just take stock/responsibility for our own shit, most of what we think weighs us down and leads us down a bad path would be gone.

When I wrote this song, I felt a little down about the world around me. A little sad that I am a grown man that is disappointed by most of the things I see and how humans treat each other. I began to get a little too inside my head about it and realized, regardless of what I see, the only thing that can initiate change and the only way to augment these things is to start with me. How I approach making coffee, how i talk to my kids, how i enjoy the smell of my wifes hair , how i take a moment and enjoy the quiet and splendour of a sunset...a perfect sunset. Ultimately when the sun does finally set, I want to have given the best of me to the world I create around me for all the people who love me and I love. So the song lyrically is about that internal struggle and dialogue, but the music was meant to be uplifting. Much like the resolve of my internal struggle. This Life I know, is beautiful and has been kind to me. I cant complain...thanks for listening

I had been listening to an obscene of John Prine when i wrote this, specifically the album , 'In Spite Of Ourselves' so I wanted to write a rootsy duet. I came up with this. I dont have a voice for country as much as I love the old country so i really missed the mark performance wise. Luckily my good friend Dani Strong was available and willing to be the other voice and saved this song. The song is ultimately about a guy who has squeaked by on his charm, really is in love with his partner but just can't get his shit together , stop the drinking and running around. His wife has had enough too. The only problem with these two is that it seems the worse each other is the more they want to be around , fix it and pretend it love

Plainly put, I wrote this song about my beautiful daughter Lola. It was the first real Love song I ever wrote. After almost 11 years she makes me weak and strong all at the same time. #truelove

Thanks fellas! Unfortunately it was not written in good time or about anything nice. I had lost a couple friends, they died by suicide. It really shook me. I wrote this song about that butnever finished it and generally couldnt perform it because it was too hard. I would attempt to and would feel drained, A couple of years later my wife and I lost a really good friend to suicide and I was angry that it happened again and I hadn't seen or done anything. I sat back down finished the song proper, recorded it with my wife.Feeling the song could perhaps have a greater purpose. So we teamed up with Steve Jones from New Cap media, Dine Alone Records and worked the song hard through all our collective channels, to give back to a suicide awareness and prevention foundation called 'Collateral Damage' 100 percent of everything that song made went back to them to help keep doing the great work they are doing. The foundation was created by a beautiful human being named Scott Chisolm.

This song was written when I was spending time with my brother down at his cabin in Dark Cove , Nfld. He and my good friend Gerry were both anxiously awaiting the arrival of new babies. As things go sometimes, home life can be a little stressful during those times. We took to the beach one night after everyone was in bed with a fire, guitar, a bottle of whiskey that may have been big enough for the entire community. We sat and talked and played and drank....late....very late. At one point I couldnt tell if it was the rise and fall of the ocen that was getting to me or the whiskey. During our late night ramblings, my brother asked me if I thought eveything would be ok? I said, " Yeh, I know they will!" With some sense of relief he replied, "Really?!" I said to him, " Man , I have no idea, but I think its what you need to hear now!" I wrote the song the next day as a welcoming of the kids to our world and our family. A celebration of a father's nervous anticipation. My friend named his son Oscar Thomas Finn, the name sounded very songworthy. The child would either be celebrated in song or become a pirate with a name like that. Love to my brother , my friend Gerry and the 2 beautiful humans they have managed to raise.
