For those of you unfamiliar with the BBC (you should know who they are) and the Introducing initiative, it has discovered some huge artist over the past few decades and catapulted them to the big league! Listen On CHOON They're real champions for independent artists and really love REAL MUSIC! To be chosen from the thousands of uploads per week is quite astonishing for a solo minnow like myself. It's not a guaranteed ticket to success but, it's a mighty good start! So here's the all new and improved studio version of 'Breathe' It's a song I wrote a few weeks ago for an online song contest called 'On Song International' As ever in my ADD fuelled haste, I quickly created a video and sent it to them! To my delight, they loved it and immediately posted it on their YouTube channel. I'm a fan of independent musicians support and want to see it develop into a bigger animal for us all. What inspired me to write this? well, I was thinking (I do a lot of that) about all the stupid mistakes that I've made in life, and wouldn't want my children to follow in my footsteps. I gave them breath in their bodies, but I don't need it back. they walk the footsteps that I make, just don't follow me, take a ride upon a wing, just don't look down on me. I never thought of myself as a poet, but reading back those words really stirred some emotive thoughts in me. I hope you enjoy this little song, many thanks for your support. Lyrics Breathe the air I gave to you just don't give it back sing this song I wrote for you just don't sing it back Walk the footsteps that I make just don't follow me take a ride upon a wing but just don't look down on me Breathe the air I gave to you just don't give it back sing this song I wrote for you just don't sing it back Walk the footsteps that I make just don't follow me take a ride upon a wing but just don't look down on me Darren

'So' Is one of my Sunday jams that I've been hiding on my Hard Drive for the past few years. I'ts always a strange feeling uploading your tracks for the world to hear. I write and record so much music that I forget what I've actually writtten. I use real instruments when I can and add drums by using programmed drum sound pads on my Porta Studio. I'm now of the attiftude of 'F**K IT I'm gonna upload my experimental material and share it with the world' It is my art and I'm sure someone somewhere will like it. Here's the remix of 'Was It Right' D-VINE and JEFF LEINWAND aka Ma.De have collectively and ingeniously remixed my track 'Was It Right' which has transformed into a beautiful dancing creature glowing with that warm summer sunshine vibe. I am so flattered and impressed by their work that I'm championing them through this post and beyond! If you would like their magic sprinkled over our music, I strongly suggest that you hook up with them. For all you tech heads out there @sevaux and @chiefmappster - here's what @jeffleinwand and @d-vine magically did to my track. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sent guitar & vocal through the Neve 1073 preamp and 1176 compressor. Drums from the DSI Tempest . Pad from the Roland Alpha Juno 2 through Eventide H9. Snare with reverb from an old Dynacord reverb unit. Arp sequence is from the DSI * Tempest. The hi resonance feedback sound was made with the modular system. The Bass is from the Cwejman VM-1. Here's what @jeffleinwand & @d-vine had to say about my track - 'Was It Right' is the first track from my EP 'Never Grow Old' All of my songs are recorded at home on my trusty old Zoom MRS 1608 - 12 track Porta Studio, which just demonstrates what you can achieve with limited recording equipment. I also write all of the music, lyrics and play all instruments that you hear. Lyrics: Were we lost, did we find how you been, healed in time was it wrong was it right days were dark, now they're light Contact made through sharing a passion the beautiful music I loved to listen thought we shared, but disagreed but always, always beneath but always, always a need Were we lost, did we find how you been, healed in time was it wrong was it right days were dark, days were dark, days were dark, now they're light now they're days were dark are they light?

It's a song about the simple life, and being grateful for what we have. Family, children, a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. Some are not so fortunate and would absolutely love this 'Simple Life' That I sing of. Whenever I feel Mental Health issues surfacing from the depths of my unbalanced mind, I grab my guitar, remember this poem I wrote and sing it out loud! Music is my therapy, and I hope it's yours too, because, it is a beautiful thing, whether you compose, play or listen. Lyrics Hey my life is very simple I'm plodding on from day to day well I've had pain and loss for certain but I learned to change my ways Waking up on a Sunday morning to the sound of laughter and play windmill sails turn in the distance I'll warm my bones with sunny days I'll warm my bones with sunny days I'm satisfied with living easy it's now time to make a change I think I'll take my chance on the lotery what's 2 pounds to us these days these days Hey my life is very simple I'm plodding on from day to day well I've had pain and loss for certain but I learned to change my ways Darren Claxton is a Songwriter, Musician and Producer of his own music, from Derbyshire UK. The music he writes is often heartfelt acoustic indie folk with a sprinkling of rock and country influences, with an occasional world music flavour as heard on his track ‘Dragonfly’ . But most of all, it's his passive emotive thoughts and feelings that are delivered through that soothing vocal, and intricate guitar playing of his.

'Nothing's In My Way' is a song about living with anxiety and the daily obstacles and hurdles it throws at us. I'm pretty sure that many people can relate to that, right? but you know what? It doesn't rule my life anymore!, I do! Please feel free to comment, as I always like to know how people manage their own anxieties and mental health issues, and how they have cope and live with these debilitating conditions throughout their daily lives. Music is such a massive part of me, and is an invaluable therapy that I embrace as much as I can. I wrote and recorded this song a few months ago and re-visited it again today. I mixed it down on my trusty old friend - Zoom MRS 1608 It was all done in 1 take and layered. The drums were recorded with a couple of SM57's and 2 overhead condensers for that real raw live sound. We've (My Zoom and me) been through a lot over the past 10 years: 4 houses, 3 ex girlfriends, 2 dogs, 2 cats and hours of fun! Lyrics: Woke up late this morning thinking same shit different day what could possibly go wrong nothing stands in my way, in my way nothing's in my way Took my happy tablet which helps me to find a way helps with my anxiety then everything's OK, it's ok everything's OK Do I even care if you don't know the strength of your own mind people stop and stare at you and talk together time to time Do I even care if you don't know the strength of your own mind people stop and stare at you and talk together time to time When the feelings rearrange I feel like running free who will come and find me there it's necessarily , all of me it is all of me Do I even care if you don't know the strength of your own mind people stop and stare at you and talk together time to time Do I even care if you don't know the strength of your own mind people stop and stare at you and talk together time to time Thanks for taking the time to visit and listen to this track of mine! Escapism - is my next instrumental track upload for Musicoin, Dsound and Steemit. As you know, I write many songs and play on SMA and MSP waves radio over on Discord quite regularly, but there are other sides to my musical creativity and that lies in my instrumental creations. When I began to compose and create music back in the ealry 00's I didn't really know that I could sing so just constructed instrumental moody music. This track developed over a few weeks and just grew and grew. It was constructed from the bare bones of that hypnotic beat and bass line that you hear. I created the drums and bass riff using real instruments, played in real time to a click track. I also use the built in pads and play finger drums this way, which creates that natural flow. which hovers underneath the haunting lead guitar and synth pads. I've written quite a few instrumentals as well as my vocal tracks, and have created some soundtrack music for a YouTuber recently. His name is Huwsnursery - it's the opening acoustic track on this video [Using Hay and Grass as Mulch for food](youtube.com/watch?v=3KwprzjMSxc&t=16s) Please feel free to comment, vote and share as you wish, as this really inspires me to produce more and more music. Thanks! Darren

Delicate Calls is an ambient soundtrack of unknown genre. It has elements of Massive Attack and Portishead with that Trip-Hop kind of vibe. It was written as I improvised the String parts on my vintage Yamaha SY 88 synth. There were only 5 tracks used in total, the drums were a loop that I made using the inbuilt touch sensitive pads, on my Porta-Studio. Tambourine and Darbuka drum were played using real instruments. My vocal was captured using 1 stereo track. Very little mastering has been done to the track so it stands untouched so far. I think it has a really eerie, soundtrack vibe to it that wouldn't be out of place in a movie scene. Lyrics - Delicate calls from the fable wandering minds are calling still rescued my bones, get what you paid for turning me up, inside and out Selling your soul to be accepted racing around to go without wasting a day with thoughts a plenty hearing a call but there's no sound So deserves the day fears have gone away taking back the need for options did you find the time believe you're sound of mind release the conversation flavours. Thanks for listening to my new track. Darren

Nesecito La Playa - 'I need the beach' is my musical offering for the Steemit Music League Challenge S2:R8 Latin Music. I'm loving the challenges here which really gets my many musical juices flowing, because I don't just write vocal songs you know? I have other sides to my creativity. I wrote this track a while back with images of Latin America and the beaches of Mexico and Brazil. I'm a huge fan of Santana's early music like the classic album 'Abraxas' which kind of inspired this instrumental of mine. When I'm not singing, I like to use the lead guitar to convey my feelings. I hope you enjoy this Latin sounding tune for this week's contest. Thanks to @chiefmappster and @prc for continously supporting us musicians here. Without kind people like yourselves, our community just wouldn't be the same. Cheers Darren

Time is a song that I wrote a few years ago whilst struggling with the emotions left behind by my estranged mother. She walked out on me and my sister and left my dad to bring us up single handed. It's a song if hope and happiness, and coning through the hard times that some of us experience. After all, that's what life is all about, experiences and tears of joy and laughter. Creatives take the torment within their souls and transmute it into something beautiful in the real world Quote by @rodeo670 My guitar is a Crafter TA050 Electro Acoustic for the gear nerds among us! Lyrics: The light shines on your photo Reflecting in your eyes And I'm losing all my feelings You know as time goes by And I'm falling from my cradle Straight into my grave Oh I wanted you to be there And call my name To the world you are one person To one person you are the world And it really makes no difference Now you're not mine Now you're not mine Why are things decided In the blinking of an eye It's not the way we plan them We just push things aside And I'm falling from my cradle Straight into my grave Oh I wanted you to be there And call my name To the world you are one person To one person you are the world And it really makes no difference Now you're not mine Now you're not mine The light shines on your photo Reflecting in your eyes And I'm losing all my feelings You know as time goes by I hope you enjoyed this song! Reflected In Your Eyes was written for my Open Mic entry for Week 79 over on Steemit. As ever, it was penned very quickly and improvised as I went along. After listening to again on Monday, I started to layer some other instruments, re sung the vocals and mixed it. This is always a rather speedy process as I'm a busy father of two little people, who like to burst through the door mid-vocal recording!! I then sent the rough master over to @d-vine who's an incredibly talented producer, for her to master, bring out the dynamics and sprinkle some of her Devine production magic all over it. I'm sure you'll agree that it sounds so much different to the original OpenMic entry, and coupled with @d-vine mastering touches, makes for a really catchy new track of mine. So if you're an independent busy artist like myself, that would like some help with your tracks I totally recommend @d-vine to add that magical finishing touch to your tracks. @d-vine Onwards and upwards!! Lyrics - for @hedac and @yidneth - And for everyone else that likes to sing along to my tracks ;-) And I can't buy your sadness And I can't buy you a smile I've waited on a long sigh And claimed it again Somewhere inside you Remains my life The one you tried to damage It's the one I can't abide To pay but never I flee from your lies rejuvenated conscience reflected in your eyes But didn't I didn't I tell you It's the love that survives But didn't I didn't I tell you Somewhere I released and cried And I can't buy your sadness And I can't buy you a smile I've waited on a long sigh And claimed it again And somewhere inside you Remains my life The one you tried to damage It's the one I can't abide To pay but never I fleed from your lies rejuventaed conscience reflected in your eyes But didn't I didn't I tell you It's the love that survives But didn't I didn't I tell you Somewhere I released and cried But didn't I didn't I tell you It's the love that survives But didn't I didn't I tell you Somewhere I released and cried

Music was my only escape but my partner had other ideas, like trying to suppress my love for creativity and controlling when I could play or perform live. 'Friends' is a story about people that you knew really well, haven't seen in a long time but thank for all the memories you made and now share. I've moved around a few times during the past 15 years and met so many interesting lovely people along the way, that I'd like to call 'friends'. 'I wonder what they're doing now, I'd like to find it out somehow and would you'? This verse in the song really stays with me, as I feel we can all relate to that sense of "where are they now? What are they doing? and, I'd like to find out somehow". My hometown is a little town in Cambridgeshire, UK called Godmanchester. Thanks for letting me reminisce about my younger days, and I hope you like the track. Kindest Here's the lyrics if you fancy singing along - Have you seen them come and go people that you used to know they were special I wonder what they're doing now I'd like to find it out somehow and would you Long ago the ones you knew they were special They said they'd call you on the phone or send a letter to your home but did they? You maybe had a word or two they told you they were missing you but were they? Long ago the ones you knew they were special Ever since the day I left you lot, well you're never there for me a better life is what I have thanks a lot for all the memories Ever since the day I left you lot, well you're never there for me I'm better now I'm gone better now I'm gone better now I'm gone better now I'm gone Thanks for listening and supporting my music! The Journey was written on a train journey from my temporary home of Gloucester to Derbyshire to start a new life away from my ex girlfriend. It was a tough 5 years not fitting into her city way of life, because, I'm a country boy and longed for the fresh country air of the English countryside. So, that morning, I crept out the house, with a backpack, headed to the local station and boarded the first train to Derbyshire to stay with my sister. I got my head straight over the next few weeks and slowly started to rebuild my life. My sings are generally written about my own personal life experiences and are very precious means of therapy for me. To be finally sharing them with the world is very liberating, so thanks for your comments, listening and supporting my journey here on Musicoin, On Atom Collector records and Steemit. Lyrics Took the 10:30 train and ran away from the pain that I'm feeling here inside had nowhere else to hide On my journey how I tried to save some of my pride I tried and remembered why I missed you now I cry Now I know that you will oh have me back to stay with you forever that's that's the best for me I'm happy now to say I wanted it that way to sort my head out straight I look tot he future it's great And who, do you love And who, do you love Took the 10:30 train and ran away from the pain that I'm feeling here inside had nowhere else to hide On my journey how I tried to save some of my pride Thanks for listening Cheers Darren

This song was inspired from meeting this old man in a filling station here in England Last year. He was holding a black rubbish bag, randomly walking around inside the shop where you pay for your fuel. Me being a guitar nut and total gear slut, spots this bag which has the head stock of a famous brand of guitar visible. It was a Gibson L-5! The one guitar I would love to own! I briefly spoke to this bedraggled, aged rocker type guy, with long wispy beard and shoulder length graying hair about his guitar, which was shoved in this old black trash bag. He said and I quote 'This was one of Elvis' guitars, I played as a backup musician in the 60's and this was one that he'd played' I was totally shell shocked by his bold statement and tale of such an iconic musical figure that, I graciously said goodbye, got in my car and drove off. Late that evening, whilst in the pub just down the road, I was having a much needed catch up and pint with my little sister Tanya. Her neighbours later joined us at the table where we had comfortably set up our base for drinks, and some standard sibling banter. We got talking and I told this story of the old guy that I'd met previously that afternoon whilst at the petrol station. The neighbours smiled at me and casually said 'Oh you mean Bob' He's a retired musician that moved here 20 years ago from the states, he played with some big names in the 60's and 70s, he's an eccentric old fella but harmless. Apparently, the story he told me was possibly true. I kicked myself all the way home that evening and later penned and recorded Fifteen Thousand, because, I remember old Bob saying 'This guitar cost me $15000! You know what, I never saw him again and I bet that guitar is worth 10 times if not 20 times that much now! Lyrics: As I looked out of my window at the passer by scruffy coat and eyes like marbles he had a windswept sigh where does he come from do I know him does he have a home drives a Bentley and eats at restaurants always sits alone Once I met him buying petrol carrying this guitar said it cost him fifteen thousand I just knew he was wrong knew he was wrong, knew he was wrong knew he was wrong I knew he was wrong knew he was wrong I knew he was wrong Invited me over to see his collection of electric guitars I didn't make but I wish I knew that he was a superstar Then some neighbours told me that he escaped to try and be free to get away from the fame and the fortune to live in privacy Once I met him buying petrol carrying this guitar said it cost him fifteen thousand I just knew he was wrong knew he was wrong, knew he was wrong knew he was wrong I knew he was wrong knew he was wrong I knew he was wrong Thanks for reading my story and inspiration behind this track. This track is VERY different to my previous uploads here on Musicoin. I'm a blues guitar player and have loved the blues since my first listen to Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Hendrix and SRV to name but a few. The Willows is a track I wrote after a stupid argument with my girlfriend! It was a cold, wet and stormy night... My guitar and me went for a 2 mile walk, stopped by this tree root in the woods near to our home and sulked. I just sat there jamming for a while, kicking myself for being a redheaded idiot and wrote this simple but effective little song. The added drums, Bass, Vocal and lead guitar really brought out the passion that I was feeling at the time! Dynamics are really important to me when creating music, the lead guitar is kind of answering what I'm saying, like a musical conversation and heated debate. I hope you enjoy listening. Lyrics: I'm gonna stand under the Willows outside in the pouring rain I'm gonna stand under the Willows outside in the pouring rain Well my baby don't love me no more she left my heart here full of pain I'm gonna stand under the Willows outside in the pouring rain I'm gonna stand under the Willows outside in the pouring rain Well my baby don't love me no more she left my heart here full of pain I know you don't like me now I know you don't like me now I'm gonna stand under the willows outside here in the pouring rain Thanks for listening, voting, commenting and sharing my music. This song is about the Town I grew up in in Cambridgeshire UK. Everyone knew each other and we all kinda got dragged I to each others business and family quarrels. I have fond memories of live here and wanted to write a poem about it. So here's the only way I know how, in song. Lyrics - I missed the bus and I missed the train and everything is still the same if you take a look inside there is nowhere else to hide in this crazy little town everybody is getting down to the things they gotta to do they're involving me and you Everything remains the same I think it's time to make a change the way we love and work and play it's got to change and change today in this crazy little town everybody's getting down to the things they've got to do they're involving me and you the ones you leave behind one day will find you there upon the wall with your head Held High and standing tall well then know you'll never fall cos you gotten out alive and found some paradise some Paradise I miss the Boat and missed the plane and everything remains the same if you take a look inside there is nowhere else to hide I hope you're enjoying my music uploads here on Musicoin - we are part of the music revolution! Cheers Darren

Somehow true is about the rock in my life, the one that holds me up, the one that believed in me and my music and the one that still believes in me after 10 years together! I pushed myself as a musician with this track and added some banjo into the mix. I write, play all instruments, sing, record, mix and produce everything at home on my 12 track Zoom MRS 1608 Hard disk recorder. I use the inbuilt mastering patches on the final mix, burn to CD (very old skool) rip onto my laptop and HEY PRESTO it is delivered to your eyes for your listening pleasure! It really gives my sound that organic analogue feel, which I really adore. - Here are the lyrics if you fancy singing along - Did I once see your eyes fell apart then realised plans we made then changed again just the same, rejuvenate Won't you take me home keep me safe and warm safe and warm stories old and stories new the lies you told but somehow true Count the cost of a lovers loss sunny skies, oh i love your eyes lost but found I hit the ground all is still, I've had my fill Won't you take me home keep me safe and warm safe and warm stories old and stories new the lies you told but somehow true Did I once see your eyes fell apart then realised plans we made then changed again just the same, rejuvenate Thanks for listening, tipping and commenting on my music! It really means the world to me!

I tried to listen to what you had to say the thoughts inside of me just ran away and all the things I really had to do they turned me round they're all because of you The wishful thoughts I had inside my head they mad no sense to me at all they're dead the time arrived for me to sort it out I'm ready now so let's just work it out You're wrong, so wrong where do I belong, anywhere at all You're wrong, so Wrong where do you belong anywhere at all anywhere at all I tried to listen to what you had to say the thoughts inside of me just ran away and all the things I really had to do they turned me round they're all because of you You're wrong, so wrong where do I belong, anywhere at all You're wrong, so Wrong where do you belong anywhere at all anywhere at all Thanks for listening to my music! Your support, comments and tips really mean a lot to me.

Your Plan is my only piano based song. All instruments, lyrics and production by Darren Claxton. Copyright © 2017 - The artwork was drawn by me too - Close now, If only You shared, the life look down, disown me wait then, go now Take back, the harsh words rethink, your plans headstrong, but restless fake smile, a clown Into the fires, that burned my lies fake dreams and conscience all, justified You were a bad little habit right from, the very start lunged forward and stained my heart did you think to stop, and change Into the fires, that burned my lies fake dreams and conscience all, justified maybe your eyes, they show pain.

Middle 8 Find me there, I’m slowly crawling Back to bed, cos I'm tired for A helping hand to help me down this lonely road again Verse 3- repeat verse 1 End Thanks for listening and supporting my music! Say something to me say it like you mean it Meant so much to me constantly achieving Haa ahh ahh, haaa, haa ah ah, haa Comments abound won’t stop believing The voice and sounds Are truths in hearing The time we spent and I’d relent Gathered back all is lost Covered feelings When I see those lights, in your eyes Those lights in your eyes, in your eyes Say something to me Just say it like you mean it Meant so much you see Constantly achieving The time we spent and I’d relent Gathered back all is lost Covered feelings When I see those lights, In your eyes Those lights, in your eyes, in your eyes.

'Here I Stand' Was written one rainy afternoon after a pretty heated argument with my now Ex girlfriend. It was recorded in one day in my basement, using an 8 track recorder.. I played all of the instruments, mixed and produced everything you hear in the track.. There are no samples, just pure organic instruments. I guess it's a song of sadness and hope. 'Here I Stand loving you for everything you are! That's what I used to say to her! I wonder where she is now 10 years later. So, this is my first track upload onto the #musician platform! I hope it works out well for me, as I've heard great things and great artists here! Thanks all Darren You can see the video here! https://youtu.be/xtfPl9TtT0Y
