A tragic love song set in a pseudo colonial world. Lyrics: Making angels in the ash and peeling rose petals for her eyes It's beauty holds all the surprise and the relief from dejection that you can buy with cash For a moment is it real she's got a knack for peeling roses but she sings in dark snows yes her voice nourishes me full like a meal Even for an islander she understands me well although i'm from the mainland.  She's got the tongue of city folks and with her words she can provoke the gravity of my mind pulled in a swell It's amazing despite the ash of burned houses we took with steel her journey must have been unreal she finds it in her to let me undo her sash In secret after 3 moon turns she smiled as she brought our child from my shell, the girl was wild But then my brothers took her Somehow they had learned Even for an islander she loved me so well although we came to take them she made me understand with her words she can land thoughts of forgiveness she made me understand After child they came for her and stole the petals from her eyes when they hung her from the skies and they say soldiers fight for honor Even for an islander she became so dark although I thought to save her I just stood Even though I’m from the mainland I thought I had heart, although I've stopped planting roses stopped planting roses stopped planting roses

For those rough days when you can't seem to look at anything positively. Lyrics: When passing by your neighbor’s bush Make sure to smell a flower And as sweet as the moment is It sure won’t last an hour Cause that’s the way that pleasure is It’s just a fleeting second So fill your days as much as you can Cause your senses soon will lessen It’s a flying bird from your window It’s a kiss on your cheek When you come home for the night And you’re greeted by your lover Make sure to take her in your arms And tell her that you love her And although it may not last And if that’s so I’m sorry But you will have soft memories To fill your dreams so starry It’s a tart wine between your teeth It’s a call from an old friend Live your life with good breath Take in all you can Live your life with a smile Take in all you can

The fifth and last song on my Folk Songs EP. Guitar and Vox - Ian Steinberg Bass - Lindsey Orcutt Drums - Gabe Millman Trumpet - Alec Fiorentino Lyrics: Is a man valued by the number of bullets it takes to kill him? 1…2…3…4… 1…2…3…4… each man worth more See how they drop See how they drop to their knees And cry freedom Is a girl valued by the number of pains she can hold in her heart? 4…3…2…1… 4…3…2…1… All whores so rotten See how they break See how they break And cry freedom Is a god valued by the number of minds he can purify 1…1…1…1… 1…1…1…1…1… My mind is the, my mind is the, my mind is the purest mind And I cry freedom Oh freedom And I cry freedom Oh oh It Smiles as it Kills God has freed my mind God has freed my mind

Waiting to hear from the ones you love. Guitars and Vox: Ian Steinberg Vox: Michelle Rosnack Lyrics: I’m waiting for letters from a loved one Anticipation grows greater everyday I’m waiting for letters from a loved one The wind won’t tell me when they’ll come Even when the trees point in the same direction I’m just waiting on these letters at home I’m waiting for letters from a loved one Can’t count the time enough for one day I’m waiting for letters from a loved one If we’d move faster over land I just need that paper in my hand I’m just waiting for these feelings to end I’m waiting for letters from a loved on I can’t wait to read her solemn words I’m waiting for letters from a loved one And when I do I’ll probly cry To these letters I’m bound and tied I’m just waiting as each day passes by

How do you know you've found something you love, is the passion enough? What happens when it falls through? Guitar, Perc, and Vox: Ian Steinberg Bass: Linsdey Orcutt Drums: Gabe Millman lyrics: Let us test the air Light our flares of excitement, delight it meant That when the flame grows low, unabashed That it’ll still grow red When we burn down to ash And we’ll drift through the wind A cloud in spin And we’ll settle on the ground And form to immaculate sin The air seems fresh So bring the dust to your lungs Cough up some love and settle in on our home Sit set build fall All this motion is flowing but I just can’t keep going Because it’s too much to deal with So I stick my foot in the bottom To stop with the drift Oh but it, oh but it just sinks in

Lyrics: I’m walking down the road Betwixt fate and my soul Looking for myself And finding none And I can’t run anymore Cause the posters are lies And my momma was a Christian Stayed in the light of the lord But now she sleeps in darkness Forever more And I can’t walk anymore Cause my bones are dry But she was 106 And beginning to cry Cause she’s in so much pain But you think I lie Because I’m insane But soon you’ll all die And I can’t hide What I’ve done No, I won’t hide What I’ve done
