Spoken Word, General
The poem, turned song, Native Tongue opening lines expresses the celebration of the African culture and its dialect as it is played in the movie. Honor, courage, royalty, pride, and empowerment are deeply rooted into the lyrics of this poem to accentuate the nature and mentality of a proud people who happen to be African. The poem ends with a petition to all in opposition asking its readers, viewers, and listeners to spread acceptance and love over jealousy and hate - Lavaughn T. Simmons
