Dark disco diva Beca creates sensual and emotive pop that will leave you spellbound at first listen. The NYC to LA transplant’s critically acclaimed catalog re-imagines '80s/'90s pop, intimate lyrics, and dreamy synths into an ethereal sonic sphere. For inspiration, she turns to mythology, classical music, film, art, romantic stories, and her personal life.
Beca is a prodigiously gifted musician who graduated from the Juilliard School, and forged her own path away from formal training. During school she sought out opportunities to explore avant-garde electronic music, compose for amplified string instruments, and soak up New York City’s thriving underground club culture.
Since 2012, she has released two of her EP’s via the UK label This Is Music Ltd., self-released her full-length album Ecliptic in 2015, and worked with such notable names as producer Morgan Wiley of Midnight Magic, and remixers Ashley Beedle, Klic, Night Drive, and Madeaux. She's garnered praise from such tastemaking outlets as Flaunt, Galore Mag, Stereogum, and Lucky Magazine, among others. Beca has also accrued radio spins from over 50 stations nationally including NPR’s “The Essentials” and LA’s famed KCRW. In addition, she has been finalist in the International Songwriting Competition and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Live concerts have spanned the US, Europe, and Mexico, as well as the likes of CMJ, SXSW, Miami Fashion Week, Sundance Film Festival, POP Montreal, and NXNE.
Her latest release, the sweetly haunting In Deep Love EP, produced by Blake Robin of Luxxury and Fabian Ordorica (Goldroom, Nylo) reflects a time of transition and hope. Standouts include the pastel pop colourings of “Captivity" and the title track, called "a shimmering and propulsive, club-banger that sonically seems indebted to Giorgio-Moroder-era disco disco and 80s freestyle,” carried off "with all the touch of glam and alluring panache of a new generation pop princess."
