Jordana LeSesne is a musician, DJ, and producer born in Pittsburgh, PA.

As both a DJ and Producer she has toured the world and played alongside many of the top DJs in the world of Dance and more specifically Jungle/Drum'n'Bass music. She has also worked with artists such as Mike Joyce (formerly of The Smiths), Deborah Harry and Blondie, Lady Sovereign, MC Kinky aka Feral from London/ffrr, Yellownote, Soulslinger & TC Izlam from Liquid Sky Records.

The Pittsburgh, PA native first came to popular attention in the mid 90s as one of the first respected producers of American Drum N' Bass. In 2001-2003 Jordana was known as Lady J and was a regular DJ on FLEX FM in London, UK. Talent runs in the family as she was related to the late Tupac Shakur.

Currently she has returned to her pre-DJ/producer roots of rock, helping to found and front a melodic goth metal band in Seattle.

She is also working on a new Drum 'n Bass EP full of new original material.

Thanks Pete! I have kind of been leaning to leave it as it is because once it appeared in the film I thought perhaps I should save the lyrics for a Resistencia Pt. II".

Drum & Bass
The intro of this tune is in the FREE CeCe! documentary film produced by Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black/Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Jacqueline Gares. After they heard an earlier untitled version of it posted to my Soundcloud I was asked to score the majority of the music heard in FREE CeCe! It was an honor to be chosen to score music for such an important project examining one woman's struggle for justice in a system stacked against her. See http://www.freececedocumentary.net for screening and more information. If you like Drum & Bass/Neurofunk with a Rock/Metal edge this tune may be for you. The production, drum programming, keyboards/synths and guitar work are all me :) BTW: This is actually an instrumental version of the song. Like Rainbows Not Enough (It All Goes Dark) this tune will have sparse lyrics. I've just not gotten around to voicing them yet. "Resistance is resilience and resilience is resistance." "Must defy those who would deny our own existence." "Resilience is resistance and resistance is resilience." "Both take persistence and a little bit of brilliance." "Strength is self-evident."

Drum & Bass, Electronic Rock, Metal
If you like Drum & Bass, Electronic Rock or Metal there may be something in this for you. :) Beyond the Drum & Bass production that's also my vocal and guitar work. Well before I ever discovered electronic music I was in underground bands and wrote music for them. As a result my electronic stuff typically has a live or rock edge. (I'll also share some of my non-electronic stuff here in the future). BTW: Some have asked me if the title has anything to do with the Ntozake Shange. I can confirm that yes I have read her book and yes it does.
