I am a singer-songwriter from Johannesburg South Africa. I write, record and perform mainly folk music with many of my influences stemming from the folk and country artists of the 1960s and 1970s. My music is heavily influenced by artists such as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, John Denver, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen.

Copyright Joanne Cooper and Deanna Sweidel 2018
Does she make you laugh
Does she make you smile
Will she lay with you
For just a little while
Does she hold your hand
When things get rough
Does she speak to you softly
And tell you that you're tough
Does she say the words
You need to hear
Does she feel your sorrow
And cry your tears
Does she ache for you
Does she want a tomorrow
Because if she doesn’t
I do
Does she run to you
Does she hold you tight
Will she wave a white flag
When she knows that you’re right
Does she crave your touch
Does she keep you warm
Will she walk beside you
Through every storm
Does she ease the pain
Does she calm your head
Will she keep you oh so close
In all the times of dread
Does she love you more than I
Does she really want this life
Does she really want to be your wife
Because if she doesn’t, I do

Pop, Folk & Singer-Songwriter, Alternative Rock
A song about sorrow, a song about broken promises, song about a man that is no no longer whole. "What is a man if he is not whole? He's just a footnote in somebody's tome, he's not the whole man he was before, he lost a piece when you closed the door". This is a song that was written with John Scunziano during February Album Writing month. It is beautifully mixed by Ogi Feel the Beat.

A little bit of fun about the proverbial one night stand.
Lyrics:
Hey hey what do you say?
lets get away
Why should we stay?
My my how we can fly
just you and I
if we only try
Hey leave a little light on, leave an little love on for me
Baby gotta get our love on, gottta get a light on for me
Oh oh what do we know
where this will go?
if we dont go slow
Hey Hey is getting late
hey sugar hey
what do you say?
oh oh its just you and me
I like what i see
What will it be?
Hey hey come into my bed
The nights still ahead
You hear what I said?

Here is a simple ukulele based song that I recently wrote as part of February Album Writing Month. No matter how different we all seem to be we want the same things out of life. We all exist under the same sun, make love under the same sky and watch the same clouds go by.
