Georg Dietrich Leyding, Von Gott will ich nicht lassen (partita) The partitia "Von Gott wil ich nicht lassen" is one of Leyding's two remaining chorale preludes (the other one was posted a week ago on this site). It consists of a set of six variations on the chorale melody. The first three are manualiter, the last three feature a pedal part as well. The last variation contains even a double pedal part, where one of the two parts plays the chorale melody. This partita is a rich and imaginative work, that makes one wish more of Leyding's chorale bound work had survived. The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sample set of the Silbermann organ of the Stadtkirche Zöblitz by Prospectum (http://www.prospectum.com/index.php?language=english&id1=2&id2=8).
