The Discipline Project A long read for a long listen: this track is around 30 minutes long. I invited my fellow guitarists to contribute a 16-bar solo of their own composition and a 4-bar arpeggio specified by me over a beat and chord sequence I'd made. 26 of them sent me material: the first solo is mine and then the rest follow one after the other. Guitarists ranging from legends like Elliot Randall (Steely Dan, etc.,) Geoff Whitehorn (everybody else apart from Steely Dan) to students, hobbyists, professionals and semi-professionals. None of the material is edited: all are exactly as I received them. It's called "The Discipline Project" because I wanted to see how many would follow the prescribed part of the brief (something I've been notably bad at throughout my session career, tending to go off at tangents as inspiration strikes.) I'm very grateful to all who contributed and have encouraged them to sign up here and send me their wallet addresses so I can share the proceeds with them. Please feel free to share and enjoy: this is an example of the kind of collaboration made possible by technology, so often described as a destructive influence, but sown here in a better light.
