Existence Born in the late ‘60s, I’m a child of the 70s/80s. I was growing up alongside synths slowly making their way into general culture, TV and music. I always remember being fascinated by the sounds they made, wherever they popped up. One particular memory/feeling is synths being used in documentaries and public information films in the 70s. Especially when they lent an eerie edge to what was happening on screen. I still get a weird proustian rush when certain sounds and styles crop up. I immediately feel off centre. So I was very pleased when this track popped out of the gribblygumbo that bounces round my head. To me, it touches on that late 70s/early 80s subtle eeriness that just sets something on edge. Especially that bridge. The chap in the sample is Bertrand Russell.
