10 - Epilogue (Perception) With their new album "I" the Swiss prog/art rock band Muzak follows a great tradition in rock music from Steven Wilson to Pink Floyd to the Beatles, giving big stories a corresponding musical framework in the form of a concept album. In the case of "I," the protagonist tries to break out of her average life to satisfy her need for recognition; to be seen and heard. After the rapid ascent, the first setbacks follow - then the big fall. By all means, she tries to reach her goal. Escapism seems to be the last resort. "I" leads through musical ups and downs, draws its listeners into an almost infinite whirlpool with surprising twists and turns. The gripping voice of Lena Greber gives comfort and confidence as the abysses open. Deceptively catchy song passages are abruptly broken through. Slanting trumpet sounds of the jazz legend Peter Schärli meet rugged guitar sounds that spread out endlessly. Muzak transforms complex, almost mathematical passages into thrilling rock music that seems to come from deep inside.

This is awesome...love the slow build up with the guitars, love it when it all kicks off...love the breakdowns...and love the vocals.
