‘Eye Witness’ is the sixth track from Slave To The System, and is a track that really just evolved out of experiments with dissonance. The string sounding parts was meant to give a feeling of something disturbing being witnessed (as in the title), these are made up of various layers that were each detuned slightly from each other. The experimental part was how far I could push the detuning and how big an interval could be used to evoke a disturbed feeling. The glitchy distorted parts (fills, breaks, whatever you want to call ‘em) were meant to represent something else occurring, speaking up about an event that just happened, confrontation, or just escaping (not sure I had really finalised that concept tbh).
